So, I’ve started a new solo venture to run alongside our other co-op-ed Let’s Plays. Instead of horror, I’m going to be playing and commentating on some of the many, many adventure-style and point-and-click games I own and love. I’m going to start off with the first of the most recent Sam & Max games, Save the World (a series of episodic short games).

Producing these videos was interesting, while a widescreen patch does exist, some elements of this first new season of Sam & Max don’t quite work, as they were designed for a 4:3 aspect ratio, so that’s what I’ll be playing it in. To cover the screen estate that most people will have left over, (as most people have 16:9 displays these days) I’ve applied some interesting affects in post. Later seasons have more widescreen support.

This week I’ve completed episode one – Culture Shock. Enjoy.

So, we’re finally back at it with Our Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem Let’s Play. We’re playing this one on the Wii, utilising it’s backwards compatibility, recording the game via our Hauppauge HD PVR 2, and our talking using Audacity in Windows 7.

We finally did. Let’s Play Silent Hill 3, now complete, in HD, widescreen, with corrected aspect ratio, game play by Scott, and myself and Peter commentating. We’ll be aiming to also finish Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem (expect posts soon) before moving on to Silent Hill 4.

Some quick Let’s Play stats:

A total of 42 videos (to SH2 40, SH 29).
A total of 8 hours, 17 minutes, and 3 seconds of footage (to SH2 7 hours, 50 minutes, and 93 seconds, SH 5 hours, 22 minutes, and 93 seconds).
A total of 6 Talkie episodes (to SH2 6, SH 4).
With Talkie time totalling 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 35 seconds (to SH2 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 52 seconds, SH 46 minutes, 86 seconds).
