So here we are, the final episodes of our Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth lp – it’s been an interesting experience, fraught with just a little technical difficulties in recording, but mostly awesome fun in getting to see and appreciate this classic horror game played out really well on a system that can actually run it like it’s supposed to be ran.
Call of Cthulhu Let’s Play Stats:
A total of 66 videos, which includes 1 Extras.
A total of 13 hours, 3 minutes and 28 seconds.
We played in the rank Private Investigator (No. 2 out of 4)
Our final Mythos rank is E, which is a combination of:
Completion: 99% (collecting items and readables)
Time spent playing: 10 hours, 31 minutes, and 5 seconds (pretty long)
Blood Loss: Medium
Mental Condition: Clinically Insane (from looking at all the bad things so much)
A Weapon Accuracy of: 51%, and
A Drug Abuse rating of: Casual (since we did Morphine just a little, not lots)
And the extras!
I hope you liked this LP, and feel free to check out some of our other cool play-throughs.
We’re nearing the finale of Call of Cthulhu now, so here’s the second to last set of episodes, before we have the final part and the super cool extras episode. We’re still in Devil’s Reef, killing fish men and finding cool guns. Enjoy.
Call of Cthulhu is now actually all published over on our YouTube channel, but I’m playing catch up a little with website posts, so here’s the part 50 onwards set, which is awesome – we get through the Cutter Urania section and onto Devil’s Reef – moving towards the end of the game.
We’re producing and publishing videos a little slower at the minute on our Let’s Play channel, since we have some personal commitments and we’re also taking it easy. But they are still coming, just slower. We’re getting pretty far now in Call of Cthulhu.
Another set of Call of Cthulhu episodes, these have taken a little longer to come out as we’ve been posting both Life is Strange to our Youtube Channel, but we’re getting pretty far now. We’re about two thirds of the way through this Let’s Play now on our Channel, and we’re finally getting to the Marsh Refinery.
Another week of Call of Cthulhu – this is episodes 29 to 35 – after this point, the updating of Call of Cthulhu may take a little while longer, as we’re releasing Life is Strange. We are still recording all of our Let’s Play’s, we just don’t want to rush out releasing them and spam people with them.
So, we’re now doing another horror Let’s Play, the wonderful and sadly much under-rated Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. These days, because it doesn’t run ideally on modern hardware, it’s difficult to find videos of this game looking like it should, or without people complaining that it’s “buggy”.
As an aside, we’re running the game on a machine we’ve specifically kept for Call of Cthulhu – it’s an older Windows PC, running XP, with an old Nvidia graphics card. Otherwise some of the problems you can have are: the rain doesn’t render correctly, the skybox doesn’t render at all, and portions of the game that require the skybox later on to work aren’t playable. There may be more minor problems, but these are the big noticable ones.
