…for realsies this time. See previous post for contenders.
The Tentacle-y Game of the Year – The Contenders
So, despite the fact that I write about cooking, tea, politics and social theory stuff, cats and cute things – I do actually play (basically all the time) video games! And I wanted to do my own game (or games) of the year. I’ve decided to do this at what most people consider the actual end of the year, rather than say…The Golden Joystick awards which is at some time during the year…other than Christmas.
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception
It’s been quite a while actually since I’ve written a full review of a video game, the last one being ‘Blue Toad Murder Files’ in October. So here I’m going to review the newest game by developer, Naughty Dog – Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Just to introduce it, I’m going to mention that I’ve finished Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – and I did enjoy them. They were fun, adventure style story games. They aren’t really the sort of thing you play more than the once, but definitely worth playing. They’ve also been pretty critically and commercially successful, but then I don’t really care about that in a lot of ways…we care if the game is good, right?
Skyrim – Extra shorts
Some extra thoughts from more Skyrim playing:
Skyrim First Look
So, thanks to pre-ordering Skyrim a whole three days or so before it came out (I couldn’t decide where I wanted to buy it from) I ended up getting the game from Amazon in the end, and I got it early.
After making sure everyone on Face Book knew I had it, I got down to some playing!
Mash Potato adventures and HD remixes: Oh my!
In a post that’s never likely to catch on and you probably really don’t care about I’m going to talk about some food stuff (and then some video game stuff, so skip on if that’s all you’re interested in). Specifically, mashed potato. I really, really, reeeeally like mash potato. Like really. With sausages and gravy. With toad in the hole. Just on it’s own. Buttery. Nom, nom, nom… (etc.)
NaNoWriMo update 1
So, it’s day three of NaNoWriMo – I have 6023 words so far and will probably try and add another one or two thousand this evening with a little alcohol for encouragement. As far as I can tell a few people I know peripherally are also doing nano and seem to be doing okay.
Blue Toad Murder Files: Mysteries of Little Riddle Review
Or should I say ‘Blue Toad Muuuuuur-der! Files…’
Just something that’s bugging me now…
…supposedly Magicka is a great game?
First look: No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise.
So, here is my first look, first impression, first try etc. of No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise demo for the PS3. It’s a port of the original No More Heroes on the Wii which came out in 2008.
I get the impression that I’m not quite….the target audience for this game. What makes me think this? Well …let’s see.
